The Secretariat of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the Secretariat) wishes to inform the general public that the following meetings will be taking place in Kigali, Rwanda:
- Fourth Meeting of the Working Group on Extractive Industries, Environment and Human Rights Violations in Africa from 14 to 15 July 2014;
- Meeting of the Working Group on Communications from 15 to 17 July 2014;
- Sixth Meeting between the Bureau of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights and the Bureau of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights on 16 July 2014;
- Third Annual Joint Meeting between the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights and the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights from 18 to 19 July 2014; and
- Sixteenth Extra-Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights from 20 to 29 July 2014.
These meetings are in line with the mandate of the Commission and in furtherance of the complementary relationship between the Commission and the Court.
The different meetings will bring together Honourable Commissioners of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, Honourable Judges of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights as well as members of the Commission’s Working Group on Extractive Industries, Environment and Human Rights Violations in Africa. The meetings will be supported by staff of the Secretariat of the Commission and the Registry of the Court.
