PRESS RELEASE: Three Commissioners of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights Re-Elected at the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — February 14, 2026 — The African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) proudly announces the re-election of three distinguished Hon. Commissioners during the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Hon. Mudford Zachariah Mwandenga, Hon. Marie Louise Abomo, and Hon. Dr. Litha Musyimi-Ogana have each been elected to serve a further six-year term on the ACHPR.
The ACHPR Bureau and Secretariat extends its warm congratulations to the re-elected Honourable Commissioners and looks forward to their continued contribution to the realization of human and peoples’ rights throughout the continent.
