Tunisia: Initial Report, 1983-1989

The initial report of Tunisia consists of three parts:

  • General Introduction
  • Compliance with commitments made by Tunisia
  • Commitments related to the rights recognized in the Charter

It is emphasized that the "Declaration of 7 November 1987" represents a true manifesto for a free and democratic society and a pluralistic state, respectful of human rights. "Since then, all Tunisians working on a project: to put the Tunisian society on the path to democracy and to consolidate and implement the concept of the rule of law, the only way to ensure that Tunisians prosper in the context of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
