ACHPR Delegation Meets Eswatini Prime Minister H.E. Russel Mmiso Dlamini
As part of its high-level engagements, the delegation of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) met with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Eswatini, H.E. Russel Mmiso Dlamini, during its ongoing Promotion Mission to the country.
The mission, which began on 15 July 2025 and will conclude on 19 July 2025, is being undertaken by a delegation composed of:
Hon. Commissioner Rémy Ngoy Lumbu, Chairperson of the Commission, Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders, Focal Point on Reprisals in Africa, and Focal Point on Judicial Independence in Africa;
Hon. Commissioner Dr. Litha Musyimi-Ogana, Country Rapporteur for Eswatini, Chairperson of the Committee on the Protection of the Rights of People Living with HIV and Those at Risk, and Chairperson of the Working Group on Indigenous Populations/Communities and Minorities in Africa;
Hon. Commissioner Marie Louise Abomo, Chairperson of the Working Group on the Rights of Older Persons and Persons with Disabilities in Africa.
The visit aims to strengthen engagement with national stakeholders and promote the implementation of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
