Decision of the Commission on Merits:
133. In light of the foregoing, the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights:
i. Finds that the Republic of Zambia is not in breach of its obligations under Articles 2, 13, 18(3) and (4) of the Charter and Articles 2, 9 and 26 of the Maputo Protocol; and
ii. Finds that it does not have jurisdiction to oversee or question the manner in which persons are appointed to public office in the Republic of Zambia, except to the extent provided by the authority vested in it by the Charter and the Maputo Protocol.
