The Advisory Committee on Budgetary and Staff Matters was established by the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights with the adoption of Resolution 142 at the 45th Ordinary Session held in Banjul, The Gambia from 13-27 May 2009. The mandate calls for the Advisory Committee on Budgetary and Staff Matters to:
- work with the Secretariat to identify activities from the 2008-2012 Strategic Plan of the ACHPR that would feature in the Commission budget proposals;
- prepare the programs budget of the African Commission for presentation to the relevant Organs of the African Union;
- ensure proper execution of the programs; and
- implement the new structure of the Secretariat of the African Commission.
The mandate of the Advisory Committee on Budgetary and Staff Matters was renewed and extended by the adoption of Resolution 188 at the 49th Ordinary Session held in Banjul, The Gambia from 28th April to 12th May 2011.
