On Wednesday 18 April 2012, Commissioner Pacifique Manirakiza, Chairperson of the Working Group, and Clement Voulé, an Expert Member, had the opportunity to hold an inter-active meeting, on the margins of the 51st Ordinary Session.
The meeting was convened for a one hour sit-down between Members of the Working Group, and representatives of State Parties, NHRIs and NGOs. This meeting provided a useful opportunity for those present to interact directly with the Working Group, and as a result a lively discussion arose from a number of issues and areas of concern raised during the meeting. In response, Members of the Working Group responded to questions raised, took note of issues and had the opportunity to network with potential partners.
