Promotional Mission to the Arab Republe of Egypt

The African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the African Commission) will undertake a Mission to the Arab Republic of Egypt, aimed at promoting human and peoples’ rights. The Mission will be undertaken by a delegation composed of:
· Mr. Yaser Sid Ahmad EL-Hassan, Vice-Chairperson of the African Commission and Commissioner responsible for human rights promotion in the Arab Republic of Egypt; and
· Mr. Chafi Bakari, Senior Legal Officer (Promotion) at the Secretariat of the Commission.
During the Mission, the delegation will meet and hold discussions with a wide range of stakeholders working in the field of human rights in the country, including government officials and members of civil society organizations, academic institutions and any other individuals, organizations and international agencies working for the enhancement of a culture of human rights in the country.
The ultimate objective of the Mission is to engage these human rights stakeholders in a constructive dialogue on ways and means of strengthening the partnership for human rights observance in the country.
