- The Republic of Uganda for its welcoming policy and for being the country hosting the largest number of refugees in Africa;
- Sudan for the high number of refugees it receives despite the problems it faces at the national level;
- Ethiopia, which in July 2018 became the second country to receive the largest number of refugees;
- Kenya, the country with the largest refugee camp on the continent; and
- Algeria, for hosting the oldest largest refugee camp.
