ANNOUNCEMENT
The African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the ACHPR) is organizing a Training Seminar on the ACHPR Complaints/Communication Procedures, from 7 to 11 June 2010, in Dakar, Senegal.
Objectives
The objectives of the Seminar are, inter alia:
· To acquaint stakeholders on the complaints handling procedures of the ACHPR; and
· To examine the difficulties that stakeholders may have with the procedures, with a view to making the procedures more accessible and user friendly.
Working Languages
The Seminar will be conducted in four of the working languages of the African Union (Arabic, English, French and Portuguese).
Participation
Due to limited resources, the African Commission will cover the cost of participation of a limited number of persons drawn from States Parties to the African Charter and civil society organisations. The African Commission will cover the air ticket to and from Dakar, as well as accommodation in Dakar. Self-sponsored participants Interested parties wishing to finance their participation are welcome to do so, and should inform the Secretariat of the African Commission not later than 3 June 2010.
