ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

1.    The African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the Commission) wishes to express its deep appreciation to the Government of the Republic of the Union of the Comoros (Comoros), State Party to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights (the African Charter), for authorising this Promotion Mission in the country.

2.    The Commission particularly expresses its gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in charge of the Arab World, Diaspora, Francophonie and African Integration, as well as to the various focal points who accompanied the delegation throughout the mission, and for the excellent arrangements put in place to facilitate meetings with various actors in order to gain a significant insight into the human rights situation in the country.

3.    The Commission expresses its sincere gratitude to the country’s highest authorities for providing the delegation with the necessary facilities and personnel for the smooth conduct of the mission. The Commission particularly thanks all the stakeholders it met on the mission for the open and fruitful discussions aimed at achieving the objectives set for the activity. The Commission also wishes to thank all the representatives from various ministerial departments, national institutions, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), other Institutions, and individuals who found time to meet with the Delegation.

4.    The Commission also thanks the Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of the Comoros in Ethiopia for liaising with the government authorities to obtain the Government's authorisation to undertake this mission.
