Lindiwe Khumalo, Acting Executive Secretary
Lindiwe Khumalo serves as the Acting Executive Secretary to the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR).
She is an admitted attorney of the High Courts of South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho, and has 20 (twenty) years’ litigation experience in private legal practice. She has also held various senior executive and advisory positions, with increasing levels of responsibility, in the public and international service. Notable executive positions held include serving as Chief Operations Officer, and thereafter Chief Executive Officer of the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC). Advisory positions include serving as Technical Advisor to the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC).
She holds a Master of Laws Degree (specializing in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa) and also Master of Management Degree (specializing in Public and Development Management.
